More Bugs

One of the best gifts either of the boys has received in a long time is a bug box that Isaac got for his birthday this year. That box has most definitely been put through it's paces. It's been the temporary homestead of numerous creatures this summer. This is the most recent inhabitant of the box.......a praying mantis. Well, I've always called them by that name, but our nature book calls them "mantids". Isaac actually found this newest creature and Jacob was definitely soon into the fun! Isaac grabbed the nature book and quickly found him in the book and was just intrigued. He's been carrying around the nature book ever since. He even had to take the book with him when we took the kids to the bus stop this morning. ;) Most of our little creatures stay just a short time in the bug box before they go "back to their families" ;) We were busy last night....didn't get home until after dark and after bedtime. In our scurry to get things done and into bed, we inadvertently forgot our little praying creature. So, he was left to say his prayers alone last night and spent a long night, away from home, in the bug box. The boys remembered him soon after waking this morning and he is now off to explore the big world again. :) And, what a big, beautiful world it is!!! Exploring all of these creatures with my boys makes me even more in awe of the amazing Lord we serve!! His eye is on the sparrow.

Looking at the world through the eyes of a child does make you truly in awe of our Lord and what He has created. Isaac can bring his bug box over here and catch all of our lizards that have addopted our house!
