Definition of HAPPY!

VEGEBRATION!!!

I'm stealing that word from my friend Wendy Sue's blog...with her permission of course. lol! Don't ya just love that word...vegebration?!!! It describes exactly what has been going on at our house over the past few weeks. This is just one of the many reasons that I LOVE this time of year!! Here are a few pictures of our vegebration! :)

I think Isaac said he picked 24 cucumbers on this day. We are eating lots of cukes! I was gone when Heidi got home one night and left her a note about dinner. She called and asked "what do you mean I need to eat up some cukes?" LOL!!! I didn't have to ask her twice. She loves them!

We've also been eating a lot of squash. We didn't plant any squash, but James' family has been keeping us supplied. They have a LOT!

And, of course corn on the cob.....a summer favorite. We don't plant corn either, but have THE BEST sweetcorn at a nearby fruit farm. And, here is proof that corn on the cob can be eaten without your front teeth. ;)

We just picked our first carrots this week and some of the mators are starting to turn orange, so we should have those soon as well. YUM!

This is pretty fun too.....at the end of the school year Isaac came home with a cup containing a small sunflower seedling. We planted it the beginning of May

....and here it is now! Amazing huh?! No clue why it is bowing it's head now. This happened following a strong rain shower last week. I like to think that it is bowing it's head in prayer along with the rest of the family. Praying that Tom will be able to get a job close to home soon so that he can be back where he belongs! Please continue to pray that our family can all be together again soon....her in Michigan!!

My Guys

Jacob is in Maryland with Tom right now. He's been there for a week and will be home with Tom the end of this week. They are having a grand time! They went to the Atlantic Ocean this past weekend. I'm so glad that they are having this one on one time alone together. I miss them both like crazy there! Looking forward to Thursday evening. :)

Family Reunion

Last weekend we had a Nicks family reunion here in Michigan. We didnt have the whole clan here, but we sure did enjoy visiting with who was there. My whole family was here. My brother and his family even made the trip here from Texas. YAY!!! All of the Tao's except Daniel were here as well. Mike and family were here to represent the Grantham side of the family. Missed the rest of you! Missed all of the Kennedy's as well. Now for the pics! Some of these were snagged from my cousin Mike. ;)

Excuse Me???

Isaac is zipping around the dining room table on roller skates when this conversation takes place:

M: Where is Gracie??

I: She is doing a job for me so that she can roller skate?

M: What??

I: She is doing a job for me so that she can have a turn on the roller skates.

Gracie walks in the front door breathless with a bucket in hand.

G: Isaac I looked everywhere. I walked all around the house....all around the garden and I can NOT find a toad, but I really, Really, REALLY want to roller skate.

Isaac is still zipping around the table on the skates.

M: EXCUSE ME??? You are making Gracie look for a toad for you in order to have a turn on the roller skates?

I: Uh Huh.

You heard it right folks. That's how it went down. The kicker? She was doing it! Gracie is now zipping around the dining room table on roller skates. She did not even have to find a toad for Isaac to earn the privilege.
