Mr. Dean

On Monday evening we lost a very special person....the minister of our church...Mr. Dean. He was more then the minister of our church, he was our friend! He was a genuinely kind and gentle soul. His absence in our lives will leave a big hole in our hearts!

We most definitely will miss the wisdom that he offers from the pulpit every Sunday. We will miss the example that he set before us in the way that he lived his life. We will miss his firm handshake and his warm heart. We will miss the obvious way that he loved God fiercely! We will miss the way he would tell Gracie that he liked her purple dress when it was yellow. We will miss coming to the church building mid-week and having him there. We will miss the way that he loved ice cream. We will miss the way he made us feel....like we truly matter and what we have to offer is of great value. The kids will miss Mr. Dean greeting them at the end of service every Sunday with candy in hand. We will even miss the tree cutting jokes, although he may not miss those. ;) We will miss his great Bible knowledge! We will miss the little blue cooler that he brought to church for us occasionally, which was filled with fish just for us, which he caught during one of his many fishing trips. We will miss him asking about my Mom and Dad. We will miss his voice when we sing together at church. We will miss his chair sitting at the front of the church. We will miss his upbeat attitude. We will miss his kind face! We will miss the presence of him in our lives PERIOD!

His absence on this earth will be felt greatly by the many people whose lives he touched! He has left a legacy of love and kindness! A great role model for me to follow in my life. As my Dad says, "when I grow up I want to be just like Mr. Dean!" :) A great goal for me for sure! ( I would like to be just like Mr. Dean and my Dad when I grow up!)

Although deeply saddened by his loss, it gives us GREAT comfort to know that Mr. Dean now has Victory in Jesus!! His spirit is now soaring.......basking in the arms of our Lord and Savior!!! I have every confidence that he is hearing the words "Well done good and faithful servant".

We love you Mr. Dean!! You will be missed!
