It's been a bit harder for me to keep up with my posting since school started. During the summer I was doing it at night after the kids were in bed, but during school we are up much earlier in the morning and therefore I am much more tired by the time the kids go to bed. When it's bedtime for them I want to follow shortly. :)
So, we did make it to the fair last Tuesday. It was a bit on the chilly side, but not too uncomfortable when we were walking around. It did get misty for a short time, but that wasn't bad either. The weather was threatening enough to keep many folks away from the fair last Tuesday though, which made it very nice for us. There were no lines for anything and it was easier to keep track of the kids without the big crowds. We were in town during the day on Tuesday and Isaac told several people that we were going to the fair and he was going to touch a pig nose.......and that he did! :)

Oddly enough I think the highlight of the fair for Gracie was being able to sit in a real police car! The police officer commented that he thought she would take off if she could......as her Mama I KNOW she would. ;) Heidi enjoyed her elephant ear and Jacob was able to shoot the "machine gun" at the target. A good time was had by all. :)

On Friday both Heidi and Jacob went back to the fair. Jacob took a field trip with the school and Heidi went with her friends after school on Friday. It was kind of neat because when we were at the fair on Tuesday we had visited the "birthing barn" where there were several animals, but no babies.....just a video playing of baby animals being born. The only babies we saw were baby chicks. We also were able to watch a baby chick hatching, which was pretty cool. When Heidi and Jacob went back on Friday all of the animals had given birth....baby pigs, a calf and a lamb. Cool!
Mom and Dad were here on Saturday and left Sunday. They actually had a load in their truck that had to be delivered on Monday. So, they drove the truck to church on Sunday and we had lunch after church and they were on their way. All of the kids were able to ride with Gramps and Neena ,in their truck, the short distance between church and the resturant. This was the first time that Gracie and Isaac had ever ridden in Gramps and Neena's truck. Neena said that Isaac had a huge smile on his face the whole way!! :) Fun!
