I'm writing this post from Salt Lake City, Utah. Tom has training here for two weeks and in celebration of our 25th wedding anniversary I am tagging along with him! WOW!!....two weeks. :) The kids are spending a week with Grandma and Grandpa Dick and a week with Gramps and Neena. We will meet up with them at Gramps and Neena's house on the 4th of July. My whole family will be there..whooo hooo! Looking forward to seeing everyone!
But, right now I am thoroughly enjoying some alone time....alone time with myself and with my hubby! Tom has class during the day. So, during that time I do whatever my heart desires. Honestly have not had time like this for the past 16 years. So, the last 2 days have consisted of breakfast with Tom, reading in my room, reading on the deck, the hot tub, the pool, the exercise bike, some movies of my choice, etc. etc. Then Tom comes back from his class and we have long uninterrupted conversations. This time away is good for me! A great way to re-energize my Mama batteries.
We used to live here. Heidi was born here. So, last night we enjoyed cruising around our old stomping grounds. We called the kids and told Isaac what we were doing "We just went by our old house and now I am sitting in front of the place I used to work" His reaction, "THAT'S WEIRD!" LOL! We have been in our current house since Heidi was 2. So, none of the kids remember anything but our lives there. ;)
Coming out west, I am once again in awe of God's creation. Just WOW.....that about sums it up. Here's a few photos for you to enjoy. On our way we stayed in York, Nebraska. I am a fan of hot air balloons, so of course, I loved their water tower. ;) ....and I love Nebraska! Beautiful state....Ginormous corn fields! Told Heidi that it would likely take her a whole day to detassal one row of those fields and that is no exaggeration!
I told Tom that I wanted to get a picture of the Wyoming sign when we got to the border. We FINALLY made it to Wyoming and as we approached the sign
I told him "you're going to have to stop, so that I can get a good picture"
He said, "No, I'll just slow down. It'll be fine"
I said, "No, you're going to have to stop"
He said "take the picture....hurry"
I said "SLOW DOWN"
He said "I AM"
And.....
You be the judge on who was right!!! ;) I did get the bucking buckaroo, which I think is pretty cool though! ;)
A few shots of Wyoming.....the vastness of it is just beautiful!
UTAH
One more photo, espcially for Jacob. We saw this HUGE crane on our trip. It's the biggest cran that either of us has ever seen. You can't really tell the ginormity of it from the photo, but if you look to the far
left in the photo you will see a blob. You can't tell, but that is a truck. See? It's one honkin' big crane! Wish the boys could have seen it! Amazing!
Love, Wendy
