Spectacles

As of Thursday, Jacob is now seeing the world more clearly through his new spectacles. He looks so handsome and grown up in them don't you think? He and I went to pick up his new glasses. Jacob is beginning to get to the phase where......well....how do I put it?? ...the "I know pretty much everything phase" Ha! So, we go in there and get his glasses. He is sitting in front of the mirror with the lady to have them fitted properly to his head. He says that they are perfect with no adjustments whatsoever. I am not so convinced. I explain to him that they look like they may be on the loose side to me. He gives me the "Mooooom stop you are embarrassing me...they are FINE" look. So, ok ok, I let it go....that is until we are walking out of the store. I explain to him that I have had glasses for a long time...the old "been there, done this" speech. You WANT the glasses to fit properly. I shake my head to demonstrate how my glasses stay put and that is what you want. We are in the parking lot by this point and he is becoming increasingly frustrated with me because after all he knows everything and has worn glasses for a whopping two minutes now. He proceeds to shake his head with the "see mom I KNOW what I am talking about" attitude and his brand new glasses fly off of his face onto the pavement!! Ok, Mr. "I know everything" we are going back in right now, to get these glasses properly fit to your head. At that point he had to admit that good ole mom was right (for once..ha! ;)...so we went back into the store, but it was "very embarrassing" lol! His glasses fit very nicely on his head now, but I'm not willing to bet any money that they won't land on the pavement again. Nor am I willing to bet that this will be the last time that Jacob claims to know everything there is to know about life. In fact, I WOULD bet money on the fact that this "I know everything" phase has just begun!  hee hee! Even though I hated to see those brand new glasses hit that pavement, it was kind of fun to win this one in such a gandious and obvious way! : D He's my boy that has to learn everything the hard way. It's how he rolls and that's ok. Love you Mister Man...to the moon and back as Granny likes to say!

Love,
Wendy

nuff ranting...

JACOB! DUDE!! YOU LOOK AT LEAST 14 - aren't you only like 12? I thought Isaac had the b'day not you?

I REALLY THINK YOU'RE A HANDSOME YOUNG MAN!! I really also adore your zest for life and your enthusiasm!

I hope the glasses will help you to see "life" more clearly..not just what's right in front of you, like some adults even get stuck in from time to time ;)
