Winter Refreshing

Tom and I had an AWESOME weekend in snowy Saint Joseph, Michigan. This was Tom's Christmas gift to me....and it was perfect! :) Tom knows how much I absolutely LOVE Lake Michigan! But, I have never been to the Lake in the winter.......well until now! YAY!! Thank you Tom!

 Why do I love the Lake so very much?? I ask myself that question.  My answer: It's good for the soul! Being there REFRESHES my spirit. The vastness of it. The sound of the waves pounding. The beauty. The power. The seagulls swooping so free. The endless sand...water..or snow. The wind whipping through my hair. And all of this never changes! It's always there. It's there waiting for me to soak it into my soul.   And as I breathe in it's goodness, I bask in the knowledge that God is power. He is vast. He is beautiful. He is never ending. He is freeing. He refreshes my spirit. He is here. He IS. The Lake reminds me of all of this. It reminds me that God is in control. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He uses the Lake to refresh my spirit!!!

Another one of my most favorite things are snowmen! These cute snowmen line the streets of downtown Saint Joseph. They are all painted differently. Love em!

We enjoyed good eats and tasty treats! This was scrumptious!! Isn't it beautiful? Both inside and out. ;)

And the BEST mint hot chocolate EVER!

And after our spirits and bodies were refreshed with the COLD, crisp Lake Michigan air we soaked.....and soaked...... in our in-room whirlpool with mounds of soothing bubbles.....bliss!!! I soaked so long that my skin shriveled. lol!

Thank you to my sweetheart for a wonderful weekend! I love you to the moon and back! Thank you to Grandma and Grandpa Dick for staying with the kiddos while we were away making the weekend possible!
