A Memory

So, I'm working in my kindergarten classroom today.... at rest time the teacher always puts in a CD to help the kids settle down. Todays' CD..."The Three Little Pigs". I didn't think much of it at first. Of course, we all know the story of The Three Little Pigs. I soon found myself singing along to the tunes in the story. And, saying the EXACT words in my head before they were said. How did I know this? My brain began searching, searching, searching through the files. It didn't take me long to come up with the answer. The answer is about 40 years old.  I was listening to the EXACT version of "The Three Little Pigs" that my siblings and I listened to over and over and over again as children. WOW! I haven't thought of it in YEARS, but remember it so vividly now. We had a record with a picture on the front similar to the one above. We played that record over and over again. We played it and acted out the story. I haven't heard it or thought of it in years, yet it is etched in my brain. As I said, I knew everything they were going to say in the story today before they said it...word for word almost. It was actually kind of freaky! lol! I was probably in kindergarten myself when I first began listening to this. That's a long time ago folks. ;) Of course, as soon as I got home I had to shoot an email to Joe and Terrie ( my brother and sister) to see if they shared the memory with me. I thought they may have been too young to remember. I am the oldest. They both DO remember it...and remember it well. Joe said, "We wore the grooves off of that record" LOL! Indeed we did. Wonder if Mom may still have it stashed somewhere. That would be cool.

"Whose afraid of the big bad wolf
The big bad wolf
The big bad wolf
Whose afraid of the big bad wolf
La La La La Laaaaaa"

:)

Anyway, just had to share. It was a Zipa-Dee-Do-Da Memory! :) Makes me wonder what kind of memories my kids will be sharing with each other in their 40's.

Love,
Wendy
