So, our babes are now almost 8 weeks old. As you can see they've done some changing! We now know that the breed we have are Rouen's. They are domestic mallards. They are one of the slowest maturing ducks. They will not be fully mature for 6 to 8 months! As you can see they are starting to get some pretty colors on them now. We also have figured out that we have one male and three females. The male is Faygo. You can see in the above photo that Faygo has an orange beak and the ring around his neck. As he matures he will get a green head and gray underneath. Our females are Milkshake, Joey and Romeo...lol!
We put in a ducky pool for them this week. They finally got in it today. :) They are so much FUN to watch!
Here is Romeo. Jacob is considering changing her name to Juliet...lol! ;)
