Turkey Trot

Well, here is a picture of our turkey trotters. :) Tom and Heidi competed in our town's first annual 5 K Turkey Trot on Saturday. Heidi has always had an interest in running. She ran around the school track without stopping for the first time when she was just 4 years old. She just loves to run. So when we saw this event in the paper about a month ago, Tom suggested that they do it "just for fun". :) Mind you Tom had not been running.......well not in several years.... at that point. They had fun getting ready and on Saturday ran the 3.1 miles, along with the other 70 competitors. Heidi came in about 2 minutes ahead of her Dad. We found out later that Heidi got third place in her age group......not too shabby for a beginner. She was also the 7th female overall. Tom did a great job too!! :) He completed the course and got the shirt to prove it. :)

Heidi is talking about running track in the spring at school. That would be fun! Heidi took a look at the above photo and asked me if they could have retakes....LOL!! Honey, you just got done running...you don't have to worry about what your hair looks like! ;)
