Up until this week we have had a very cold spring. A cold spring = lots of cold soccer games and track meets! Brrrrrr! BUT, we have had some beautiful weather this week! Hip Hip HOORAY!!!! Enjoying it immensely!!! Yesterday was our last soccer game and the weather was AWESOME....about 80 degrees. The Lions club treated all the kids and their families to grilled hotdogs last night. It was very nice!
Gracie saved the last game of the season to get walloped a good one in the face with the ball. :( OUCH!!! Poor baby! She was SOOO brave though! She just kind of stood there dumb-founded. No tears though....at least I didn't see any. She was at the opposite end of the field from where we were sitting. The field this year is much bigger by the way! I tried to keep my distance a bit to see how Gracie would handle herself on her own. She did GREAT!! No major drama. As I said, so brave!
So, the reason for the bigger field is that the kids have moved up to the next age group this year. I think it's 9 to 12 year olds. We requested that they move Isaac up early to keep he and Gracie on the same team. So, Gracie and Isaac are most definitely the little folks on the team!! Don't think for a minute that Isaac's small stature in comparison to the other kids holds him back whatsoever! He is NOT intimidated! LOL! Pretty fun to watch! Gracie, on the other hand, is not as confident with her skills, but she definitely had FUN, which is the most important part of playing sports for Gracie.........the social aspect! :) One day, as little tiny Gracie stood all alone at one end of the field while the ball was in play, with the rest of the players, at the other end of the field......one of our Mom's shouted. "GO GRACIE!! GO GRACIE!! YOU ARE A WALL OF DEFENSE!!! YOU GO GIRL!!!" :) :) I LOVE it!!!! A good time was had by all!! :)
Love, Wendy
