Out with a bang!

Wow! Cross Country season officially ended for Heidi last Saturday. The girls ran at the state meet. WHOO HOOO!! GO GIRLS!! In order to qualify for the state meet you must be one of the top three teams at the regional meet. Our girls were second at regionals. YAY! Heidi's picture was in the paper as part of the write up for the regional meet. Pretty determined huh?! ;)

The state meet took place at Michigan International Speedway. They had their names in lights on the huge sign at the speedway, which was pretty cool! Here are our girls at the start of the state meet. Heidi is kind of hidden in this picture, but if you look close you can see her gold gloves. It was a chilly run! Take a gander at their shoes. They are tagged. LOL! Attatched to their shoes are disposable microchips. This keeps track of them during the race. When they cross the finish line it is automatically recorded with their name, time, school. Pretty high tech huh?! Wow!

Go Heidi! Almost done!  She ran her way to a PR (personal record) at the state meet! What a GREAT way to end the season! So very happy that we have solved the problem with her leg pain and she has been able to enjoy this cross country season to it's fullest!! :) :)

This picture was taken earlier in the season. It is a photo of all the Juniors on the team except for Lindsey...boo! I wish Lindsey was in it! She is pictured above. This is from left to right...Shaina, Beth, Heidi, Jackie, Harlie and Autumn. These girls really do an awesome job. The vasity team consists of 7 runners, 5 of whom are juniors. As I mentioned before 6 of our girls made all league...4 of them were juniors. We have no seniors on the team this year, so next year should be another awesome year.  Can you tell I'm a tad bit proud of these girls? ;) They are making some awesome memories!!
